Your room key will be stored in our Key Safe located opposite to Reception desk, in an envelope containing a welcome letter in which you will find all instructions to get to your room safely, a map of the Resort, and a little map of Palm Cove to find the essentials after your arrival.

A telephone close to the safe is available to contact our after-hours service which will give you access to the safe.

Palm Cove is located 20 minutes’ drive north from Cairns’ airport, and thirty minutes’ drive from Cairns CBD. Cairns’ airport services domestic as well as international flights. Hire cars are available at the airport. Coach transfers are also available but these should be booked in advance.

If you are booking direct with us online there is an option to book the transfers on the room booking page.

You may also phone or email us to arrange transfers. There is no public transport available.

Palm Cove village is a small town and is mostly flat. Walking everywhere is a good option, as is hiring bicycles. If you have hired a car then that will obviously give you greater freedom. The bus or a taxi is recommended if you are doing grocery shopping. Walking to the main street (the Esplanade) takes about 10 to 15 minutes from the main entrance of the Resort. Walking to the beach also only takes about 5 to 10 minutes if you use the back gate of the Resort. If you arrive by coach and then decide you want to hire a car that’s OK – we have a few hire car companies in town we can book for you. We have beach towels for hire, complimentary children’s beach toys, and complimentary rain umbrellas. We have free Wi-Fi (see reception upon arrival) in your room or in all public areas of the Resort. We have a Tour Booking Desk – you can discuss tour options, get recommendations, check the weather etc. at reception and then book your tours at no extra cost. We recommend you do NOT book reef tours until you arrive and see which days are likely to have the best weather.

To confirm your booking a credit card will need to be provided to guarantee your reservation, with full payment to be received no later than 14 days prior to arrival on a standard booking.

At all times we, Mango Lagoon Resort, will endeavour to accept all bookings that are made through our website, however we reserve the right to cancel/reject a booking at any time.

You will be notified by us of any changes/amendments to the booking and refunds due and we will always try to give you an alternative option.

Cancellation PolicIES

We realize that plans can change and that unforeseen circumstances can occur. We highly recommend travel insurance.

All cancellations must be received in writing by email, to Mango Lagoon Resort Palm Cove. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Mango Lagoon Resort Palm Cove. If you have not received acknowledgement within two days, please contact us at the resort on (07) 4055 3400.


A Credit Card is needed to guarantee your reservation at the time of the booking; and the balance is due to be 3 days prior to arrival.

Cancellation: full refund up to 72hrs before arrival.


Payment in full is due at the time of the booking.

Cancellation: no refunds or modifications will be granted for bookings made under this discounted rate.

Cancellation: For cancellation received 14 days or less before the arrival date, the full amount of the booking will be charged (i.e: if booked for 5 nights then 5 nights’ accommodation will be charged). This policy is applied to cover the distinct possibility of our inability to re-let the room at that late a stage. Should the room be re-let a refund of the booking difference will be applied.


Amendments to all bookings can be made up to 3 days before arrival, subject to availability and pricing may vary.

*Fees may be credited to a future re-booking of similar duration at Mango Lagoon Resort, subject to room availability, for travel dates up to 12 months from the original cancelled booking.
